Mrs. Mary Joyce Small Hartage of Americus, Georgia was born on May 27, 1952, to the late Louise Harrold and Billy Brown Stewart. She attended the Sumter County School System. Mary was a very nice person with an infectious smile. She loved her family. She was a faithful member of Big Bethel Baptist Church where she served on the usher board.
Mary passed away on January 15, 2024. She was preceded in death by her only beloved son, Jimmy Lee Small. She was married to the late Raymond Hartage who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two loving brothers: Mr. Willie Harrold of Americus, Georgia and Mr. Grady (Alfreda) Small of Miami, Florida; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Valeria Small of Oglethorpe, Georgia; grandchildren: Michael and Douglas Paul; step-grandchildren: Stephanie Towns and Jonathn Nelson (Aya); step great-grandchildren: Myrical Mitchell, Eric Harvey Jr., Jasmine Nelson, and Jamal Nelson; devoted cousins: Mamie Sampson, Sharon Jackson, and Temeka Sampson; her friend, Brenda Wafford; Other cousins, church members, family and friends also survive.
The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday January 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of West’s Mortuary.
