The Funeral Service for Mrs. Amber Josey Caldwell of Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at Allen Chapel AME Church on Bumphead Road in Americus, Georgia.

Amber Lorraine Josey was born on January 8, 1987, to Ernest Josey and Lisa Rebecca Josey (Laifang).  To assist her parents, she was later raised by her grandmother Leila M. Josey and grandfather Clarence Josey, Jr., who preceded her in death. Her maternal grandparents, Ben C. Johnson and Helen P. Johnson, South Carolina; among other maternal and paternal family who also preceded her in death. She was baptized as a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church at a young age where she remained until her death. She attended school in the Americus school system where she made many friends. On Saturday, October 3, 2015, she married her former husband, Tavares Caldwell and she became Amber L. Josey Caldwell. To that former union, two children were born. Amber was so proud to be a mother. Amber was a free spirit, very soft-spoken child and young lady who loved her girls dearly and will be greatly missed by her family.

On January 15, 2024, her pain and suffering ended as God called her home. In addition to her parents, she leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Tianna K. Caldwell and Takarri J. Caldwell, Brunswick, GA; a devoted aunt who loved and raised her as a daughter, Mrs. Deborah Josey Burks (Joseph) Smith, Macon, GA; a step-mother Mrs. Carolyn (Ernest) P. Josey, Buena Vista, GA; sisters, Ms. Natalie Lorraine Johnson, Columbia, South Carolina and Ms. Ashley Modell Johnson, Fayetteville, North Carolina; a step-sister, Ms. Crystal Posey, and a step-brother, Mr. Eric Posey, Buena Vista, GA; two cousins raised as sisters, Ms. Leila-Chassity Jones, Byron, GA and Ms. Rayven S. Josey Burks, Macon, GA. Four nieces, Alxis J. Nicholas, Jozaulyn L. Johnson, Shayla A. Johnson and Sophie A. Johnson, South Carolina, and one nephew, Alex C. Johnson, South Carolina. Uncles, Clarence Josey III, Americus, GA and Johnny Josey, Atlanta, GA. Great aunts, Ms. Doris Josey, Mrs. Viola (James) Bridges, Americus, GA; Mrs. Willie Josey, Belle Glade, FL; and Mrs. Addie Pearl Josey, Columbia, SC; God-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick L. and LaVerne McLaughlin. Former brother-in-law, Mr. Dale G. Caldwell and sister-in-law, Ms. Chantell Caldwell. A host of cousins and friends also survive.
