Mr. John Nicholas Banks of Americus, Georgia died on Friday, September 22, 2023, at his home. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. at Eastview Cemetery in Americus, Georgia.
Mr. John Nicholas Banks affectionately called “Nick” was born in Sumter County, Georgia on August 1, 1978, to the parentage of the late Ms. Diane Banks and Johnny C. Smith Jr. of Americus, Georgia. Nick attended the public schools of Sumter County. He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a member of Campbell Chapel A.M.E Church. Nick loved spending time with his kids and his family, and really enjoyed cooking. He was a faithful employee at Zaxby's in Americus, Georgia. Nick was the life of the party and loved to joke and have fun wherever he went. He will be remembered as a great family man. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mrs. Ruby M. Banks and Johnny C. Smith Sr. of Americus, Georgia and his nephew Quantavius Robinson of Americus, Georgia.
He leaves to mourn his legacy, four sons: Jac’Quavius Banks of Reno Nevada, Jarvis Romine of Los Angeles California, Mason Romine of Americus, Georgia, and Xander Banks of Oregon; four sisters: Ms. Cotina Banks, Ms. Katrina (Walter) Bridges, Ms. Patricia Smith, and Ms. Barbara Smith all of Americus, Georgia; three brothers: Mr. John (Beverly) Smith and Mr. Mark (Bernadette) Smith of Americus, Georgia, and Mr. James (Joyce) Smith of Ellaville, Georgia; his godmother, Ms. Shirley Moye of Americus, Georgia; a devoted cousin who he was raised with Ms. Melissa Banks of Americus, Georgia; three devoted cousins: Travis Durham of Pennsylvania, Frederick Banks Sr. of New Orleans and Maurice Durham Jr. of Americus, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends including the Milliner Family (McCoy Hill), His Zaxby’s family, and his Dingus Magees family also survive.
