Mr. Johnny L. Sims, affectionately known as “Nunk” of Americus, Georgia died on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at his home. Mr. Johnny L. Sims was born on August 18, 1959 in Sumter County Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Charlie Sims, Jr. and the late Mrs. Ella Ree Lundy Sims. He received his education in the Sumter County School System. Johnny had a passion for fishing and he loved to have fun with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ella Ruth Sims Durham and one brother Albert Sims.
He leaves to cherish his memories two brothers: Charlie Sims and Joseph Sims both of Americus, Georgia; four nieces: Karen Durham of Albany, Georgia, Sharon Durham, Angela Hall and Quanta Sims all of Americus, Georgia; two nephews: Joe Durham of Atlanta, Georgia and Travis Durham of Pennsylvania; two devoted friends: Mae Lou Davis and Dinka Davis both of Americus, Georgia. Several other relatives and friends also survive.
