The Graveside Service for Mr. Arthur “Jesse” Lee Jones of Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at New Hope A.M.E. in Smithville, Georgia with Rev. E.X. Arthur “Jesse” Lee Jones was born February 08, 1940, in Smithville, Georgia to the parentage of Ernest and Roxie Mae Jones. In the early 1960’s, he relocated to Miami, Florida where he took up the profession of carpentry. During his time in Miami, Florida, he made a host of friends who will miss him dearly, as well as his childhood friends from Smithville, Americus and Albany Georgia.
To those who knew him best, he was “Bruh” or “Rut”. He always had a smile and a joke to tell. He was the “life of the party.” He loved to “dress to impress.” Wherever he went, he wore his Stacey Adams shoes. He enjoyed hobbies, such as fishing and hunting. Bruh Rut Jones lived a full and vicarious life during his tenure here on Earth. He enjoyed every moment that was available to him.
In addition to his parents Ernest and Roxie Mae Jones, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Henry Jones, Earnest Jones and John Jones; sisters: Emma Myers, Alice Rivers and Lula Brown; and his grandson, Jordan Tyler Jones.
Left behind to mourn his passing are six children: Valerie Jones, Jeffrey Jones (1), Christopher Milliner, Jeffrey Jones (2), Jessidria Jones (Williams) and Jessica Jones; his favorite big sister, Juanita Jones; a special nephew and nieces who went out of his way to make sure he received the best of care, James Jones (his wife, Gloria) and Regina Stover; his step-sister, Rose Mae Burton; his granddaughters: Chakita Denise Milliner, Jaden Jones, Jhane’ Jones, Shameeka Harvey Jones and Lanay Milliner; grandsons: Christopher Milliner Jr., Jamal Jones and Edward Williams, Jr.; his great-granddaughter, Jahlaya Jones; his best friend and life partner, Linda Clayton; a host of other nieces and nephews who loved him so much.
