The Graveside Service for Mr. Emory Blakley age 72 of Americus, Georgia will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Blakley Memorial Gardens in Doerun, Georgia. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the safety of others.
Mr. Emory Blakley was born March 11, 1950 in Doerun, Georgia to James Blakley and the late Alberta Thomas Blakley. Emory was employed as a Forklift Driver at Cooper Lighting for over 41 years. He loved his family and his livestock. Mr. Blakely passed away peacefully on Saturday October 22, 2022, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Larry Blakley and Donnell Blakley.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Carol Blakley; five children: Larry Blakley, Richard Blakley, Sherrie Blakley, De’Undrea Williams and De’Erica Blakely; his father, James Blakley; three sisters: Mary Moye (Eddie), Liza Reeves (Donald) and Lynn Thomas (Ira); four brothers: James Blakley, Jr., Nathaniel Blakley (Jennifer), Lester Blakley (Brenda) and Michael Blakley; six grandchildren: Tommy Blakley (Alyssa), Desirae Blakley, Sha’Daria Blakley, De’Asia Blakley, Traymon Clark, and Dremea Yearby; five great-grandchildren: Dawn Blakley, Shanyia Blakley, Taliah Blakley, Raylen Sims and Madilyn Bowens; a god-son Trell Mercer; neighborhood friends, Edward & Lizzie Carter and a host of other relatives and friends.
