The Graveside Service for Mr. John Henry Bogan, Jr. of Montezuma, Georgia will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the protection of others.
Mr. John Henry Bogan, Jr. was born on December 25, 1952 in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Mattie Cromer West and the late John Henry Bogan, Sr. He was educated in the public schools of Macon County and was a graduate of D. F. Douglass High School. He was employed at Southern Frozen Foods for many years until the plant closed. He later was employed at ADS. He retired from Piggly Wiggly.
On January 11, 2022, John departed this earthly life for sweet eternity with his Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Sammy Lee West, Buster James West, Elois West, Oscar Trice and Laura Porter.
Precious memories will always remain with his loving family. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Ida Bogan; three children: Sammy Perkins, Teresa Bogan and DeQuincy Johnson (Adrian); three siblings: Jim Trice of Montezuma, Georgia, George Trice of Railford, Florida and Sherry Robinson of Americus, Georgia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Lavern Perkins and Evonne Moore both of Montezuma, Georgia, Jeanette Perkins of Fort Valley, Georgia, Richard Perkins (Sheila) of Montezuma, Georgia, Dr. Emory Perkins of Washington, D.C., Milton Perkins (Pamela) of Montezuma, Georgia and Elnora Felton (William) of Oglethorpe, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren: Addison Robinson, Malani Bogan and Deshawn Oliver, Jr.; two god grandchildren: Baileigh Waters and Paris Harden; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
