The Funeral Service for Mr. Phillip Lewis Robinson will be held Friday, August 13, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, Georgia. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue to practice social distancing for your protection and for the safety of others.

Phillip Lewis Robinson was born on January 1, 1960 in Sumter City, Georgia to the late Mr. Willie Robinson Sr. and the late Mrs. Katie Bell Roberts Robinson. He attended Southeast Elementary School and Union High School in Leslie, Georgia. Phillip later joined the United States Army and traveled to many different states and countries. Phillip’s duties consisted of serving as a Military Police Officer and disposing of bombs. Phillip not only protected and served in the United States Army, he was one the greatest athletes in the United States Army. Phillip was a running back. He injured his knee/leg playing football in the Army which caused him to be discharged.  Phillip’s other jobs consisted of mechanic work and pulling cars which he put his heart into. Phillip also had the pleasure to work at B&L Wrecker Services of Atlanta, Georgia which is owned by his sister, Bonnie Butler and Joe Butler.

Phillip departed his life on August 5, 2021 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Johnny Robinson, Linda Robinson, Richard Robinson, Eddie Robinson Giles and Willie Robinson Sr.; his nieces: Tammy Robinson and Janice Giles and two brothers-in- law: Joe Butler and Joseph Giles. 

Phillip’s memories will always be cherished by his two daughters who were united with Margaret Jackson Robinson Spearmon of Jesup Georgia: Philisia (Corey) Spearmon of Cobbtown, Georgia and Marquita Robinson of Jesup, Georgia; grandchildren: Destinee Robinson, Demetria Woods, Mahalee Spearmon, Matthew Spearmon and Malachi Spearmon. Phillip also raised Edidiong Parker Brown (Binky) as his own daughter; sisters: Mrs. Estella (Willie) Lusane and Mrs. Shirley (Alvin Sr.) Smith of Sumter City, Georgia, Mrs. Bonnie Butler of Atlanta, Georgia and Ms. Gloria Goodgain of Aurora, Colorado; brothers: Floyd Robinson of Americus, Georgia and Lloyd Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia; one aunt, Mattie Pearl Burton of Sumter City, Georgia; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
