The graveside service for Mr. George Washington Carter, Jr. of Americus, Georgia will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Eastview Cemetery. Mr. Carter passed on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center.
Mr. George Washington Carter, Jr. was born on July 29, 1960 in Americus, Georgia to the late Mary Helen Louis, Charles Louis and George Carter, Sr. He was educated in the Americus School System. He confessed Christ as his savior but never became a member of a church.
He is survived by his companion and caretaker of many years Alice Ruth Gordon of Americus, Georgia; a sister, Shonda Louis (Ross); one brother, Granger Louis (Lisa) all of Americus, Georgia; step daughter, Anitra (Eric) Brown of Leesburg, Georgia; two aunts: Kay Dee Jones and Pam Louis of Americus, Georgia; one uncle, Bobby (Doris) Louis of Americus, Georgia; his mother-in-law, Alice Bradley of Sumter City, Georgia; one sister-in-law Sandra Bradley of Sumter City, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Henry Bradley of Sumter City, Georgia; step grandchildren: Jacquise Thomas, Jarvis Brown, Erica (David) Thomas, D'Erica Brown, Koudrick Brown, Eric Brown Jr (Armani); nieces and nephews: Robert Jones, Takeeka (Etris) Smith, Bridget Jones, Kenyatis Jones, Ross Hunt III, Rashon Hunt, Zyion Hunt and Jakobe Hunt; a devoted cousin, Kathy Allen; his furry grand dog Cody; Several other relatives and friends also survive.
