Deacon Earnest Calvin Durham, Sr. of Hawkins Street Americus, Georgia passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at his home. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Mitchell Grove Baptist Church on Mask Rd. in Americus with Rev. Daniel Clinton officiating.

Deacon Earnest Calvin Durham, Sr. was born on October 2, 1965 in Americus, Georgia to Mary Lundy Carter and the late Deacon Charlie L. Durham, Sr. Deacon Durham was a member of Mitchell Grove Baptist Church.  He attended Sumter County Comprehensive High School, where he played football. Earnest was a jack of all trades; he was a painter, carpenter, mechanic and also a barber.  He loved to joke, laugh and have fun.  He was preceded in death by his father, Deacon Charlie Lee Durham, Sr. and his grandparents; Rev. John and Annie Lundy of Plains, GA and Emma Lee Gaston of Americus, GA.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Mary Durham Carter of Americus, GA whom he loved dearly; four daughters: Lakeisha Pride, Kamaron Durham of Americus, Vanessa Adrian Johnson of Warner Robins and Alexis Muff (Roderick); five sons: Tavores Durham, RonKeions Deriso, Jeremy Durham all of Americus, GA, Earnest Durham, Jr. and Jamarcus Durham of Riverdale GA; four sisters:  Helen Barlow, Patricia (Johnny) Mable, Valerie (Frank) Benn and Ambra (Robert) Sanford; one brother, Deacon Charles (Teresa) Durham of Americus, GA; uncles and aunts: Bishop Ernest (Ossie) Lundy, Bishop Johnny (Carol) Lundy and Mattie Sue (William) Harris; two great aunts: Mae Ola Tullis and Thelma Solomon; a devoted God brother, Major Thomas, Jr. twenty-two grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends

I would like to send my condolences to the family of Mr Durham. I know losing a love one in death is very sad but we can all look forward to the time when the almighty God do away with all things that causes pain and suffering even death (Rev.21:3,4)I am so sorry for your loss
