The funeral service for Mrs. Josie Lee Felton Louis will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Brown Chapel Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Brown Chapel Cemetery.
Ms. Josie Lee Felton Louis was born in Montezuma, Georgia on October 16, 1941 to the parentage of Mr. Charles Brown and Mrs. Elnora Holt Brown. She was raised in the care of her aunt, Mrs. Dollie Felton. Josie was educated in the Macon County School System. After school the lure of the big city drew her, and she relocated to Miami, Florida where she remained for many years. While in Miami, she worked for several different hotels in housekeeping. Eventually, she felt the call to return to Georgia where she then lived in Fort Valley, Montezuma, and Americus.
When she became ill, she then moved to the River Willow Nursing Home in Abbeville, and also the Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she remained until her passing. On Sunday, November 10, 2019, Josie transitioned from her earthly tabernacle to be with the Lord. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Elnora Holt Walker, her father Mr. Charles Brown, her son, Mr. Jerome Felton, her aunt, Mrs. Dollie Felton, her sister, Ms. Gwennetta Walker, and her brother, Mr. Charles Brown, Jr.
Left to honor and cherish her memories are her sister, Shirley Walker Lewis of Byron, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Trenna Felton of Americus, Georgia; granddaughters: Kimesha Felton of Valdosta, Georgia; Tiffany Felton of Warner Robins, Georgia; Cheri Felton of Albany, Georgia; and Shalisha (Kadeem) Williams of Duluth, Georgia, and one great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Kaye Williams. She is also survived by two aunts: Mrs. Bernice Brown of Miami, Florida and Mrs. Mary Lizzie Brown of Marshallville, Georgia; and a host of other relatives and friends
