The funeral service for Mr. Johnny B. Thomas, Sr. of Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lebanon Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia with Rev. Hosie Waters officiating.

Mr. Johnny Broner Thomas was born in Americus, Georgia on September 09, 1943 to the late Mr. Roscoe Lamar Thomas and the late Mrs. Elma Taylor Thomas- Culliver of Americus, Georgia. On Friday, July 26, 2019 Mr. Johnny Broner Thomas Sr, loving father and grandfather passed away at the age of 75. He was self-employed as an automotive mechanic where he practiced for over 50 years until he retired.  He had a passion for fishing and hunting. He joined Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age, where he later finished his devotion to Christ at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Staff Sgt Johnny Broner Thomas Jr.; father and mother, Roscoe and  Elma; two sisters: Virginia Byrd and Naniele James; wife, Freddie Thomas; devoted uncle, Bishop John T. Taylor; devoted aunts: Rosa Lee Young, Georgia Lee Broner, Tommy Lee Brown, Ceolia Roberts, Essie Johnson, Annie Colbert and Thelma Hurley.

He leaves to cherish his memories five sons: Daren Thomas, Derrick M. Thomas,  Michael (Sharon) Manns and Gregory Williams all of Americus, Georgia and Donald Minter of Ellaville, Georgia;  one daughter, Marilyn Mallard of Montezuma, Georgia; one daughter-in-law, Clara Thomas of Lee County, Georgia; two brothers: Roscoe Lamar, Jr. of Hartford, Connecticut and Willie Lamar of Americus, Georgia; one sister, Norma Hurley, of Americus, Georgia; eighteen  grandchildren, including two devoted granddaughters: Shonemeca Thomas-Hill and D’erica Thomas; two devoted grandsons: Drill Sgt Dominque Thomas and Quinten Thomas; thirty great grandchildren; six aunts: Mrs. Lillie Cladd, Mrs. Elnora Girvens, Mrs. Lady B. Sims, Missionary Lois Taylor and Mrs. Doris Pope all of Americus, Georgia and Mrs. Mae Frances Baker of Jacksonville, Florida; A host of other relatives and friends, including his devoted partner in crime “Lady B. Sims”, a devoted cousin Lynn (Thomas) Reagon, and a devoted neighbor Mary Lundy also survive.

My sincere condolences to the family. He was a dear friend of my late father and always called me by my father’s name. We always hugged and talked about the Lord when we saw each other. Hold on to God and Mr. Johnnie B.’s memories.

I would like to send my condolences to the family of Mr Johnny B. We all look forward to the time when the almighty God do away with all things that causes pain and suffering even death. I am so sorry for your loss
