Funeral services for Mr. Alonzo Rivers of Smithville, Georgia will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 12 noon at the Zion Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Green Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Alonzo Rivers was born on November 30, 1966 in Smithville, GA to the parentage of Mr. Eddie Rivers, Sr., who precedes him in death and Mrs. Vera Mae Cutts Rivers.  He is the sixth of seven children.  He attended the Lee County Public School System in Leesburg, Georgia, where he played football and baseball.

As a young child, he participated on various church programs-Sunday School, Easter, Vacation Bible School, etc., at Mount Able (Desoto) and Green Grove Baptist Churches. 

Alonzo’s professional life include job positions at Lippert Components of Americus, GA-Press Operator, McCleskey Mills, Inc. of Smithville, GA-Quality Control, and ConArt Concrete, Inc. of Cobb, GA-Supervisor.  In recent years, he operated his own business, Big Al’s Lawn Care Services and he took deep pride in serving his customers.

Alonzo had a zest for life and enjoyed its many aspects; which included fishing, hunting, watching basketball on television, watching his FAVORITE football team, the DALLAS COWBOYS, and hanging out with his son, Brandon and his brother-in-law, Tony.

On Friday, January 4, 2019, surrounded by family, he transitioned to eternal glory.  Along with his father, he is preceded in death by four siblings, Eddie Mae, Shirley, Eddie Rivers, Jr., and Edna Rivers Walker; Grandparents, Mr. Charlie and Mrs. Palace Cutts and Mr. Ben Rivers and Mrs. Postell Harvey Rivers Bady.

Memories of his life will forever be in the hearts of those whom he leaves behind:  his wife of 18 years, Mrs. Tracy Carter Rivers, Smithville, GA;  son, Mr. Brandon (Haley Nicole) Rivers, Leesburg, GA; mother, Mrs. Vera Cutts Rivers (Robert Baker, Jr.), Smithville, GA; Mother-in-law, Mrs. Annie Rose Carter, Smithville, GA; children: Christopher Milliner, Jr., Atlanta, GA, Jennessa Carter, Smithville, GA, Chakita Milliner Darron Jackson), Atlanta, GA, Keianna Milliner, Smithville, GA, Cashundra Milliner, Smithville, GA, a God grandson, Caiden Hann, one sister, Ms. Vivian Elaine Rivers, Smithville, GA; one brother, Mr. Don (Marva) Rivers, Smithville, GA; AUNTS-Mrs. Mary Lee Cutts French, Smithville; Mrs. Rosie Bell Cutts (Willie) Godbee, Miami, FL; Ms. Elizabeth Cutts, Albany, GA; Mrs. Evelyn Cutts (Rev.
