Funeral services for Mr. Edwin Jerome Walker, Sr. affectionately known as “Eggie” will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Magnolia Baptist Church with Rev. Hosie Waters officiating.

Edwin Jerome Walker was born February 6¸ 1953 to the late George Walker and the late Kadessa Walker. “Eggie”, as he was affectionately called, was educated in the public school system of Macon County where he attended D.F. Douglass High School, Montezuma, Georgia. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and became a member of Magnolia Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Hosie Waters.

On December 30, 1971, Edwin J. Walker and Wynelle Tookes turned their high school courtship into marriage. This union was blessed with four beautiful children. One son, Carlos Walker preceded him in death. Eggie departed this life Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Navicent Health Medical Center, Macon, Georgia. He was also preceded in death by his sister Joanne Paul.

His beautiful life will lovingly be cherished by his wife of forty-five years, Wynelle Tookes Walker of Oglethorpe, GA; his children: Teresa Hardison of Jonesboro, GA, Gimekia Powell Dunlalp (Gregory) of Jacksonville, FL, Edward Jerome Walker, Jr. of Jonesboro, GA, Karen Walker of Oglethorpe, GA, Rodney Pernell Walker of Union City, GA, Christopher Jerome Walker of CA, NuCurry Williams, Martin Jerome Walker and Katrina Walker of Macon, GA; his step-children: Derrick Walker of Charlotte, NC, Shamekia Davis of Perry, GA, Portia Walker, Bonnie Hunter and Julie Worley  of Montezuma, GA; sisters: Gloria Jean Coleman of Largo, FL, Onita McDonald (Ernest) of Oglethorpe, GA and Carolyn Walker of Largo, FL; brothers: George Walker, Jr. of Montezuma, GA, Robert Walker (Lavern) of Oglethorpe, GA, Timothy Walker (Catherine) of Marshallville, GA, Michael Walker and John Thomas Walker (Sara) of Montezuma, GA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Annie (George) Hayes of Atlanta, GA, Henry (Annie) Tookes of Montezuma, GA and Custer Tookes of Oglethorpe, GA; devoted daughter-in-law, Carol Polly Walker; forty-five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; the mother of the family, Ola Mae Sparks; special friends: George Rumph, Larry Coates, Eric Chastine and Chris Riley; faithful caregiver,  Derita Solomon; a host of nieces and nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

My condolences to the family. I am so sorry for your loss.we can be assured that the almighty god don't want us to suffer from the lost of a love one because he tells us at Revelation 21:3 and 4 that he will get rid of our pain and suffering,this is a future promise that we can look forward to.
