Mr. Andrew Covin affectionately called “Cee” was born on December 24, 1946 in Leesburg, GA to the parentage of Mr. L.C. Covin and Mrs. Mary Lee Adams Covin, who precede him in death.  He was the sixth of eight children.  He attended the public schools of Lee County in Leesburg, Georgia. He relocated to Newark, New Jersey where he finished his high school career.

After living and working in Newark, for several years, “Cee” moved back to Leesburg, Georgia to be closer to his family and his high school sweetheart because the long distance telephone calls were not working.  On September 24, 1968, he married the love of his life, Ms. Emma Kate Rivers.

He realized at an early age, that he would face numerous obstacles in life, therefore, he confessed Jesus Christ as his personal savior and joined the Phillip Grove Baptist Church in Leesburg, Georgia and was baptized by the late Reverend B.B. Mosley.  After joining the church, he attended vacation bible school, Sunday school, and other church programs on a regular basis. He later joined the Holy Deliverance Cathedral in Albany, Georgia under the leadership of Apostle Isaiah Revels, where he was ordained as Deacon. He also worshipped with the Green Grove Baptist Church in Smithville on a regular basis.

As a profession, Andrew was a commercial truck driver. He worked for Taylor Trucking Company, Griffin Trucking Company, and Southern Ag.  After years of driving for others, he decided to purchase his own Big Rigs and drive for himself.   Andrew was co-owner of C & C Farms in Lee County, Georgia.  He had a profound love for baseball and played for many years.  In the 1980’s, he co-owned and managed the Lee County A’s baseball team. “Cee” was also known for dressing in his three-piece suits, sharp hats, and Stacy Adams shoes.

On Wednesday, March 1, 2017, he laid down all of burdens as his soul left to be with his savior in his heavenly home. In addition to his parents, three brothers, Mr. J.C. Covin, Mr. Marion Covin, and Mr. Willie James Covin precede him in death.

Left to treasure fond memories are his wife of forty-eight years, Mrs. Emma Kate Rivers Covin,  three sisters, Ms. Mary Alice Covin, Albany, GA; Ms. Clair Reather Covin George, Warner Robins, GA; and Mrs. Rosie Covin Batten and husband Mr. Jesse Batten, Leesburg, GA; one brother, Mr. Eddie Dean Covin; five sisters-in-law Dr. Delphine Bady McGrady-Caregiver, Ms. Ilean Bady, and Ms. Vera Rivers, Smithville; Ms. Mary Covin, Newark, New Jersey; and Ms. Cheryl Davis, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am sorry for your loss. It is sad to lose a loved one to death. It is my hope that the family and friends finds comfort in knowing that, Almighty God Jehovah (Psalms 83:18)understands exactly what you are feeling. He is going to eliminate death, suffering, crying and pain forever( Revelations 21:4). What a wonderful future hope our loving God provides us!
