Funeral services for Mr. Milton Joe Reid of Elm Street Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Elizabeth First Baptist Church in Abbeville, Georgia with Rev. Michael Acree officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Abbeville.
Mr. Milton Joe Reid was born on January 11 1950 in Abbeville, Georgia to the late David and Jessie Reid. He gave his heart to God at an early age and joined the Elizabeth Baptist Church in Abbeville, GA. Milton attended the public schools of Wilcox County. He was employed with Middle Flint Lawn Services. Milton went home to glory on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia. He was preceded in death by one sister, Francina Hawkins and five brothers: William Reid, Morris Reid, Charlie Reid, Arthur Reid and Johnny B Reid.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories a devoted friend, Ms. Jeanette Williams of Americus, Georgia; one son, Milton Joe Porter of Pineview Georgia; two brothers: Mr. David V. Reid of Rochelle Georgia and Donald Reid of Pineview, Georgia; one aunt, Evangelist Bertha Williams of Atlanta Georgia; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Lois Reid of Miami Florida and Mrs. Gladys Reid of Abbeville Georgia; one brother–in-law, Mr. John Hawkins of Abbeville Georgia; four God Children: Ms. Sharon Williams, Ja’Kelen Williams, Ja’Kalan Williams and Princeton Williams, Americus GA. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a devoted niece, Mrs. Natashia Cooper of Americus, Georgia also survive.
