Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Mae Johnson age 91 of Americus, Georgia will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Andersonville National Cemetery with Pastor Tony Thompson officiating.

Mrs. Fannie Mae James Johnson, “Grand Mae” as she was affectionately called, was born on December 17, 1920 in Plains, Georgia to the late Mrs. Willie James and the late Mr. Frank “Pat” James. On February 16, 1941 she married the love of her life, Mr. George Johnson. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter Willie Mae Brown.

Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of the St. John A.M.E. Church in Plains, Georgia until her health failed. She was also a member of the International Benevolent Society. “Ms. Fannie” was a kind and loving caregiver to her entire family and will truly be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Johnson; her daughter Willie Mae Brown and son-in-law, Joseph Brown; four sisters: Mrs. Lulean Laster, Mrs. Ruth Woods, Mrs. Thelma Johnson and Mrs. Katie B. Cottle and twobrothers: Joseph James and Felton James. Mrs. Johnson died on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Doctor’s Hospice of Georgia in Fayetteville, Georgia.

She leaves to cherish her memory her three devoted grandchildren: Yolanda Brown of Jonesboro, Georgia, Felicia (Corey) Brown-Parker of Covington, Georgia and George Patrick Brown of Americus, Georgia; a loving sister, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth White of Americus, Georgia; two great grandchildren: Markel Cobb of Jonesboro, Georgia and Jordan Parker of Covington Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.
