Funeral Services for Mrs. Ossie Lee Little of Forest Park Road Americus, Georgia will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lebanon Baptist Church in Plains Georgia. Burial will follow at the Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Little died on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at her home. 

Mrs. Ossie Lee Dodson Little, affectionately called “Mrs. Sis”, was born in Sumter County, Georgia on July 16, 1926 to the late Arthur and Irene Small Dodson. At an early age, she joined the Mt. Salem Baptist Church. She served there faithfully as President of the Missionary Board and Vice President of the Pastor’s Aide Club until her health failed. She was a homemaker in Sumter County who enjoyed going to church and tending to her flowers and her chickens. She was married to the late Johnny Little. Two daughters, Mrs. Ernestine Dice and Ms. Johnnie Mae Littlepreceded her in death. Mrs. Little passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at her home.

 

Left to cherish her memory are five sons: Mr. John (Marilyn) Ware, Mr. Milton (Kim) Little both of Americus, GA, Mr. Melvin (Bertha) Little, Deacon John (Irene) Little both of Plains, GA and Mr. Willie (Jane) Ware of Albany, GA; one daughter, Mrs. Marie (Jimmy) Thomas of Rochester, NY; two brothers: Deacon James (Lillie) Dodson of Gainesville, FL and Mr. Willie James Gibson of Washington, DC; one aunt, Mrs. Annie Bell Chambers of Americus, GA; thirty-one  grandchildren, three of whom she reared as her own: Mr. Jerome (Renee) Ware of Monroe, NC, Mr. Clifford (Sharon) Ware of Columbus, GA, and her caregiver, Ms. Geraldine Ware of Plains, GA; thirty-seven great grandchildren including a devoted great granddaughter who was her caregiver, Ms. Yolynda Brown of Plains, GA; eight great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive including devoted friends Mrs. Rosa Angry, Mrs. Letha McCoy, Mrs. Christine Gardner, Mrs. Bertha Williams, Mrs. Emma Sue Sims and Mrs. Rosa Mae Solomon all of Americus, GA.
