The Graveside Service for Mrs. Sarah Jane Smith of Americus, GA will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Eastview Cemetery where Rev. Willie Green will be the Eulogist and Rev. David Hamm will officiatePlease remember to mask up and practice social distancing.

Mrs. Sarah Smith was born on September 8, 1940 in Americus, Georgia to the late Mother Mary Lizzie Smith Green and the late Deacon Crawford Green. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a faithful member of the Perry Grove Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess. Mrs. Smith passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Mr. Henry and Mrs. Betty Green, Mr. Green Smith and Mrs. Henrietta Newsome Green; four brothers: Crawford Green, Jr., Eddie Lee Green, Claude Edward Green and Willie Lee Green.

Left to cherish her memories are her children: Randy E. Green, Cindy R. Green, Carl E. Green (Claire) all of Americus, GA, John L. Smith (Ruth), James M. Smith both of Atlanta, GA, Gary L. Smith and Juanita A. Smith (Wallace) both of Americus, GA; three sisters: Mary Retta Nelson of Americus, GA, Pauline Andrews of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Foster of New York City, NY; Several other relatives and friends also survive.

Mr. Willie Scott Binn was born on December 21, 1944 to the late Mrs. Eddie B. Leverett Binn and the late Mr. Jimmy Binn. Mr. Binn was a man that loved to fish, garden and do yard work. He will be missed by many.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Ramona Whitehead Binn of Preston Georgia; his children: McKeeble (Michael) Feagin and Karen Samuel; two sisters: Victoria (John) Garrett and Patricia Ann Binn; two brothers: Tom Richard Binn and Raymond Burks; grandchildren: Troyce Binn, Kyla Jackson, Christopher Jackson, Robert Jackson,  Tayah, Chaz, Jayden and Leyah Samuel; great grandson, Kingston Ali Samuel; stepchildren: Angela (Mark) Hercules of Atlanta Georgia, Shyteria (Dennis) Young and Corderius Whitehead both of Americus, Georgia: step grandchildren: Markayla, Ja'Nyla, DeLayla, Morgan, Chasen, Roman, Detravious; brothers-in-law: Dennis Akine, Joe Walters, Eddie Walters, Jimmie Akine, Willie John Akine, Sammie (Van) Fitzhugh, Antonio Fitzhugh and Donald Akine; a sister-in-law, Shirley Akine; Several other relatives and friends also survive.

Ms. Bianco Shambrea French was born on September 23, 1983, in Panama City, Florida to Alfreda Jarvis and the late Calvin Milledge, Sr. Bianco was educated in the public school system of Panama City, Florida and was a 2001 graduate of A.D. Harris High School. She was once employed as a Correctional Officer at the Youth Detention Center in Americus and was currently an Assistant Manager at KFC in Americus, Georgia. Bianco passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Paulding Wellstar in Hiram, Georgia.

Left to cherish her memories are her children: Chloe Ponder, Avien Williams and McKinley Smith; her mother, Alfreda Jarvis (Harold); a devoted companion, Terrance Jones; eight brothers and sisters: Jonathan Floyd, Randy Floyd, Angel Floyd, Patrick Milledge, Kalondra Jones, Calvin Milledge, Jr., Travis Milledge and Veronica Milledge; a special friend, Destiny Givens. Several other relatives and friends also survive.

 A Memorial Service for Mr. Bobby Lee Mathis will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. on Lonnie Lane in Americus, Georgia with Rev. Campbell officiating.

Bobby Lee Mathis was born on July 12, 1944 to the late Leola Jones. He was a civil rights member for many years. He also worked and owned his own carpentry business until his health failed. On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, Bobby departed this life at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Clause Lee Jones, Joseph Jones, Sr. and McArthur Jones.

Precious memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Helena Mathis; two daughters: Artricia Jones and Selena Black; one son, Darryl Johnson; three brothers: James Jones, Fred (Amanda) Jones and Moses (Joyce) Jones; three sisters: Mary (Robert) Tucker, Paula Kay (Jessie) Jones, Dana Jones and Geonna Jones; mother-in-law, Bertha Bless; brother-in-law, Fred (Alyssa) Smith, Jr.; grandchildren: Ryan Spann, Ebony Cotton, Jamin Jones, KhaMyrhion Jones, Arianna Johnson, Nevaeh Johnson, DaKiyah Johnson and Maliyah Johnson.

Mrs. Lillie Woods Lyles was born in Sumter County on November 30, 1954 to the late Mr. Eugene Woods, Sr. and Mrs. Essie Bivins Woods. She was married to the late Mr. Bennie James Lyles. Mrs. Lyles passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers: Ms. Salathia Bivins Woods, Ms. Mary Woods, Ms. Susie Woods, Mr. Jimmy Woods, Ms. Regina Woods and Mr. Henry Woods; a half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Ruth Tatum and two uncles: Mr. Eddie W. Bivins and wife Mrs. Rena Gibson Bivins and Travis Bivins; sister-in-law, Ms. Nettie Woods Lyles; brothers-in-law: Mr. Nathaniel Lyles, Mr. Johnny B. Lyles, Mr. Robert Lyles and Mr. Willie Lee Lyles; mother and father-in-law of the late Mr. John Benjamin Lyles and Mrs. Bertha Holmes Lyles. 

She leaves fond memories to be cherished by her daughter, Miss Tamica Lyles; two brothers: Mr. Eugene Woods, Mr. Wilbert Woods and his wife Mrs. Yvette Prince Woods; step-brother, Mr. Willie Woods Sr.; brother-in-law, Mr. Charles Lyles; sisters-in-law: Ms. Ola Dean Ingram, Ms. Annie Cleveland, Ms. Sarah Thomas, Ms. Mamie Tavare, Ms. Mary Lyles Hill and Ms. Annie B. Lyles; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins including Ms. Irene Merritt and friends Ms. Anna Lumpkin and Ms. Dorothy Jones. Several other relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside Services for Janerise McCoy of Americus, GA will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Friendship Council Cemetery in Desoto, GA on Hwy 195. Janerise died tragically on Friday, May 14, 2021 in Americus, GA.

She is survived by her daughter, Harmony Ford; her mother Bertha Mae Biggins of Desoto, GA and her father Alexander McCoy of Americus, GA; one sister, Shanteria Monae McCoy and a brother Brandon Jama Biggins. Several other relatives and friends also survive.

The Graveside Services for Mr. Eddie Lee Dunn, Jr. affectionately known to his family as "Pa Daddy" of Americus, GA will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11:00 at Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Mathis Wright officiating.

Mr. Eddie Lee Dunn II was born in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia on May 14, 1932, to the late Mr. Eddie Dunn, Sr. and the late Ms. Lucy Mae Coleman. He was educated in the Sumter County Public School System. For fifty-six years he was employed at Charles Wheatley Construction Company of Americus, Georgia. He was united in holy matrimony to Ms. Brownie Dunn for sixty-six years until her death on March 30, 2016. This union was blessed with eight children. “Mr. Ed Lee” departed this Earthly life on Wednesday. May 12, 2021.

He leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters: Rosa (McArthur) Rutherford of Americus, Georgia, Brownie Dudley of Waldorf, Maryland and Naomi (Randy) Tanner of Hampton, Georgia; two sons: Eddie (Kim) Dunn III and Dennis Berryhill of Americus, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Regina Dunn of Fayetteville, Georgia; two brothers: Oz Coleman of Americus, Georgia and Eugene Coleman of Cedartown, Georgia; two sisters: Lena Coleman and Dora (AJ) Daniel of Americus, Georgia; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, seven sisters-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, countless family and friends.

Sherry Ann Morgan was born July 9, 1961, in Sumter County, Georgia to the late Willie D. and Dorothy Morgan-Solomon and McArthur Monts. She was a faithful member of The Kingdom Church Americus, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor Courtney Moore. Sherry was a 1979 graduate of Americus High School. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Jerome Brown, Jr, her maternal grandparents, the late Willie F. Morgan and Alberta Black-Morgan and her paternal grandparents, Carl Monts and Lucille Monts. She departed this life on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at her home.

Sherry leaves fond memories to be cherished by her daughter, Jaysheree Wilborn  and her grandson whom she loved dearly, K’Marion Banks of Leesburg, Florida; her daughter-in-law, Matilda Wade-Brown of Americus, Georgia; two brothers: Kenneth Solomon (fiancé Angela Merritt) of Americus, Georgia and Kenneth Monts (Tracy) of Plains, Georgia; three sisters: Dorothy Jean Mathis of Americus, Georgia, Marilyn Manse (Sidney) of Kissimmee, Florida and Cynthia Monts of Plains, Georgia; devoted sister-in-law, Queen Gibson of Americus, Georgia; nephews: Victor Powell (Jamarkisa) of  Anniston, Alabama and Reggie Merritt, Jr. (Angelica) of Augusta, Georgia.

Also left to cherish her memories are her uncles: Ralph Morgan (Jurilene), Edd Ross (Juanita) and David Monts all of Americus, Georgia, Billy Monts (Ida) and William Monts of Plains, Georgia; her aunt, Fannie Mae Sheffield of Americus, Georgia; a devoted aunt, Alma R. Solomon of Americus, Georgia; devoted cousins: Elder Rena’ Ingram, Arthur Solomon, George Solomon and Virginia Solomon of Americus, Georgia; other cousins and friends: Nosie Bell Angry, Stella Ford, Diane Sims, Gloria Sims and Emma Sue Clay of Americus, Georgia, Reverend George F. On Friday, May 7, 2021 infant Bella Rose Reese was born to Mikessia Reese in Americus, Georgia. Our Lord and Savior saw his precious angel struggling for life and decided to remove all of her pain and take her Home with him.

Bella Rose leaves behind her mother, Mikessia Reese of Americus, GA; a sister, Ivyana Jenkins and a brother, Jace Michael Holmes; her grandparents: Lashanta Wade and Michael Reese of Americus, GA; great grandparents: Claudia and Darrell Walters of Americus, GA, Joe Wade Sr. of Warner Robins, GA and Katherine McCray of Americus, GA; great great grandmother, Edna Jane Rambo Welborn of Americus, GA and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Mr. Tommie Lee Hubbard

The Graveside Service for Mr. Tommie Lee Hubbard will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Champ Waters Cemetery in Montezuma, Georgia. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we ask that you MASK UP and continue social distancing for your protection and for the safety of others.

Tommie Lee Hubbard was born on June 24, 1942 to the late Jim Hubbard and the late Mary Trice Hubbard in Montezuma, Georgia. Tommie received his education at the Macon County Training School. Tommie joined the Piney Grove Baptist Church at an early age. Tommie married Bettye K. McKenzie in 1962 and to this union one daughter was born. In 1965, Tommie moved to Columbus, Ohio and worked with Belmont Casket Company for many years. After living in Columbus, Ohio for 55 years, Tommie decided it was time to return to Georgia in August of 2019. Tommie loved his caps, eating at White Castle, and watching Westerns.

Tommie passed away on April 21, 2021 at Perry Hospital in Perry, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings: John Lee Hubbard, Ananias Hubbard, Sr., Elder J. H. Hubbard, Mamie Stinson, Lillie B. McKenzie, Timothy Hubbard, Willie Marie Hubbard, Lena Mae Hillman, and Frank Hubbard, Sr.

Tommie leaves precious memories to be cherished by his two loving children: Delphine (Wayne) Solomon of Ellaville, Georgia and Marvin Joiner of Montezuma, Georgia; six siblings: Annie Lee Thomas, Vera Solomon, Myra Oliver all of Montezuma, Georgia, Linda Johnson of Warner Robins, Georgia, Mary Louise Collier of Perry, Georgia, and Jet (Barbara) Hubbert of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer Joiner and Jessica Joiner of Atlanta, Georgia; devoted nieces and nephews: Vivian James, Anias Hubbard, Jr., and Robert C. Hillman; his best friend Roosevelt Latimore of Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Hattie Hubbard; step-children: Terrell McKenzie, Kreis McKenzie, and Darlene Taylor; nine step-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
